The University of Manitoba and the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority are seeking a qualified full-time ophthalmologist with a minimum of 12 months of fellowship training in Paediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus to practice in an academic and clinical setting.

The successful candidate would join an active and vibrant department of Ophthalmologists with a wide range of subspecialty training. Our Department provides ophthalmology services to the city of Winnipeg, the province of Manitoba, the Kivalliq region of Nunavut, and Northwestern Ontario. The position includes a university appointment at the University of Manitoba with both undergraduate and residency teaching responsibilities. An interest in research is encouraged. The successful candidate would be committed to running a busy clinical practice in Paediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus. Surgical privileges would be provided at the Health Sciences Centre and the Misericordia Health Centre – Buhler Eye Centre.


All candidates must be certified or eligible for certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and be eligible for registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba. An interview will be required as part of the selection process.


Remuneration is through an alternate funding agreement. Physicians may be eligible for a recruitment incentive. Please contact for further information.
