The opportunity is located 1 hour, 45 minutes north of Winnipeg. Ashern boasts an entrepreneurial attitude and has plenty to offer. Its location, at the junction of two major transportation routes (Provincial No.6 and Provincial Road No. 325) provides opportunity for business growth. Sharptail Campground is walking distance from all major amenities and a short drive from the public boat Launch on Silver Bay, and a variety of lakeside activities. Ashern is located close to Lake Manitoba Narrows, which is home to Manitou Island, from which Manitoba got its name.

The Lakeshore General Hospital has 14 acute care beds, 10 Hemodialysis beds, 20 PCH beds, and diagnostic services.

Services include office practice, outpatient / emergency room coverage and personal care home coverage.

Qualifications: On call stipends paid in accordance with Doctors Manitoba. Qualified candidates must be immediately eligible for registration and licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba and have CMPA coverage in the province.

Compensation: Compensation is derived from fee-for-service or contract income.
