Division of Clinical and Metabolic Genetics

Effective September 1, 2015 the Division of Clinical and Metabolic Genetics, Department of Paediatrics, at the Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) 555 University Ave. Toronto, ON, an academic health science centre dedicated exclusively to infants, children and adolescents, affiliated with the University of Toronto, is recruiting a full-time Geneticist (Metabolic Genetics).

The Division of Clinical and Metabolic Genetics has a long tradition of excellence in clinical care, education and innovative research. Independent and collaborative clinical and basic research is performed by Division members. The Division provides both residency and fellowship training programs which are fully accredited by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and the Canadian College of Medical Genetics. The Division and the University of Toronto co-sponsor an MSc program for Genetic Counsellors.

The successful candidate will concentrate primarily on clinical care, education and research activities. The candidate can either be an individual with an established focus of metabolic genetic expertise, or relatively new graduate interested in developing such expertise. Further, the successful candidate should have completed or be eligible for a Fellowship in Biochemical Genetics (CCMG). Candidates will also be considered if they possess comparable training or certification from other countries.

The successful candidate should be eligible for an academic appointment at the University of Toronto at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. Rank and salary ($210,000- $250,000 per annum) will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The successful candidate will be eligible for a benefits package which includes medical, dental, life insurance, long term disability insurance, group insurance, pension plan, vision care, academic allowance a relocation package and may be eligible for a one time signing bonus.

All candidates must be certified or eligible for certification in Paediatrics by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. This position will remain open until filled.
