The Department of Ophthalmology and Vision Sciences at The Hospital for Sick Children is inviting applications for the position of a full-time Staff Ophthalmologist with a special interest in retinoblastoma. The effective date of this appointment is January 1st, 2019.

The successful candidate must have a strong academic record and experience in caring for patients with retinoblastoma. Fellowship training in Pediatric Ophthalmology and/or other relevant subspecialty areas is preferable but not mandatory. The successful candidate will provide clinical and surgical ocular tumor care at The Hospital for Sick Children which is the national referral center for retinoblastoma. The successful candidate is expected to conduct original basic science or clinical research, and will be required to participate in the teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows.

The successful candidate must able to function in English and be eligible for an academic appointment at the University of Toronto. The candidate must have an M.D. or equivalent and be eligible for specialty certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or equivalent, and licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.
Salary will be between the range of $200,000 – $600,000 for 40 hours work per week, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Benefits include Medical, Dental, Life, Group Insurance, Pension, Vision.
