The Department of Surgery, Division of Cardiovascular Surgery at The Hospital for Sick Children is inviting applications for a full time Cardiovascular Surgeon, Division Head. The effective date of this appointment is September 1st 2018.

The candidate should have a strong background and is expected to complement the Division’s clinical, educational and research productivity. The candidate should have an expertise in Congenital Heart Surgery and should be an established academic Cardiovascular surgeon with an international reputation.

The candidate must be able to function proficiently in English and hold an M.D., MBBS or equivalent. He/she must also be eligible for appointment at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor at the University of Toronto and be eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.

Dedicated exclusively to children and their families, The Hospital for Sick Children is among the largest children’s hospitals in North America and has a long history of excellence in clinical care, research and education. It is fully affiliated with the University of Toronto and is located adjacent to the University campus and to numerous specialty hospitals and biomedical research institutes.

The Division of Cardiovascular surgery at the Hospital for Sick Children is comprised of six academic Pediatric Surgeons. Clinical activity is supported by Paediatric Cardiovascular surgical Fellows and Residents on rotation. The Division of Cardiovascular Surgery operates as a component of the Labatt Family Heart Centre, which includes Cardiology, Cardiac Surgery, Cardiac Intensive Care and Cardiac Research.
