Staff Physician – Psychiatry, Hospital for Sick Children

The Department of Psychiatry at Hospital for Sick Children is inviting applications for the position of Psychiatrist with expertise in pain management through psychiatric approach.

The effective date of this appointment is immediately.

Primary Description – Responsibilities include full clinical Psychiatry practice, research, and education, and administrative responsibilities as required by a Paediatric Psychiatrist. Evidence of excellence in teaching and research is required. The preferred candidate will have extensive experience and achievement in clinical care and research in the area of child psychiatry with an extensive focus on pain management.

Additional Description
The successful candidate should be an academic with an international reputation who can provide effective and collaborative leadership at the hospital, provincial, national and international level. The candidate must be eligible for appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto and be eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.

Dedicated exclusively to children and their families, The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) is a world-renowned, state-of-the-art paediatric health care facility affiliated with the University of Toronto. The hospital is committed to ongoing learning and development, and features a caring and supportive work environment. The Department of Psychiatry at SickKids is comprised of 12 physicians, and provides care to children and adolescents with a wide range of mental health challenges.

Salary will be between the range of $200,000 – $284,000 for 40 hours work per week, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Benefits include Medical, Dental, Life, Group Insurance, Pension, Vision.
